Meet the Team

  • As a Sussex County native, I am excited to start my own practice and have the opportunity to care for those living and moving to the Cape region!

I was born in Philadelphia and grew up just outside of Lewes. As a Cape Henlopen graduate and field hockey state champion, I pursued my dream of playing field hockey as a D1 athlete at Syracuse University. I went on to graduate with my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business from Assumption College in Massachusetts and started my career in banking at WSFS, Wilmington Savings Fund Society in Lewes, DE. In addition to working at the bank, I enjoyed participating in non-profit community programs in Sussex County including Meals on Wheels and Teach Children to Save. It was during this time of helping others, my desire to focus on the medical needs of the community began. In doing so, I decided to leave banking and pursue my dream of becoming a nurse.

With my mother being a nurse and my father an internal medicine physician since my childhood, I was inspired by their constant dedication and commitment to their patients. Their guidance, advice, and knowledge were instrumental as I returned to nursing school and graduated from Delaware Technical Community College in 2014. For the past seven years, I have worked for Beebe Healthcare in their Emergency Room and Behavioral Health Department. In that time, I continued to learn and advance in my career as a nurse. I found myself desiring to give more to my patients and decided to return to school once again. While continuing to work at Beebe, I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2018 and my Master of Science Degree in Nursing with a concentration of Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021. As my advanced nursing career continues to unfold, I completed a Post Master’s Degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in 2023. Many patients are suffering from mental health issues and I feel this is where my true passion lies.

I enjoy traveling and spending time with my daughter Hailey. Relaxing on the beach in Lewes and Ocean City with my family is where you can find me in the summer. Finally, I am an avid Philadelphia sports fan and love supporting the Eagles. Win or Lose, GO BIRDS!

  • After graduating from Beebe School of Nursing (now known as Margaret H Rollins School of Nursing) in 2003, Theresa went immediately into psychiatric nursing in the acute inpatient setting. ANCC certified as a psychiatric nurse since 2006, Theresa decided to pursue her Advanced Practice Nursing degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Delaware in 2010 and her Master of Science in Nursing from Drexel University in 2014 before becoming ANCC certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Licensed to practice across the lifespan, Theresa first specialized in children and adolescents, and later started to see adults as well.

Theresa endeavors to provide clients with acceptance, support, and guidance on their journey of self-improvement. Her approach is practical and straightforward utilizing pharmacotherapy to help clients gain better control over their behaviors and emotions.

Currently, Theresa is primarily providing services through telemedicine, allowing clients the convenience of having their visits in the community in the setting they prefer. She works in partnership with the other Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners at Cape Wellness Center to ensure safe, effective, evidence based care.

  • Hello! I’m Amy, a Sussex County local with a deep commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of our community, especially those in emergency services and healthcare. I’m lucky enough to be married to my best friend, I’m a proud mother of two beautiful daughters, and I’m also a new grandmother.

My career began in the field of emergency services as an EMT and firefighter, where I was first exposed to the unique challenges and pressures faced by first responders and healthcare professionals. This experience led me to pursue nursing school, where I worked in the Emergency Department, gaining valuable skills and insights into the demands of critical care. Over time, I specialized in Forensic Nursing, focusing on Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Mental Health, and Critical Incident Stress Management.

It was during these years in the field that I witnessed firsthand the toll that the demanding nature of emergency services and healthcare was taking on my colleagues. I saw the stigma surrounding mental health issues like PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, and I became deeply passionate about breaking that stigma. I dedicated myself to ensuring that my coworkers, and others in high-stress professions, received the care and support they deserved. It’s become my mission to advocate for proper mental health treatment for those who give so much to protect and care for others.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my large, loving family, traveling to new places, chasing sunsets with my husband, and of course, snuggling with my grandbaby and pups. Life is all about finding balance and joy, and I’m dedicated to helping others do the same.

I’m grateful to be part of this community, and I’m here to support you in any way I can on your journey toward healing and well-being.
